SDLM-019-095-01-01 direct drive linear servo motor with built-in encoder

Product Overview

The SDLM-019-095-01-01 is a compact, fully enclosed direct drive linear servo motor for one-inch-stroke positioning. Its housing measures 0.750 in. (19.1 mm) in diameter and 3.750 in. (95.3 mm) long. The actuator provides a 1.000 in. (25.4 mm) stroke, 6.8 oz (1.9 N) of continuous force, and 21.6 oz (6.0 N) of intermittent force at a 10% duty cycle.

Performance and Construction

The non-commutated direct-drive design eliminates ball screws, gears, belts, and other mechanical transmission components. Direct coupling to the low-inertia output shaft provides zero mechanical backlash, no cogging, high acceleration and deceleration, smooth bidirectional motion, quiet operation, and long service life.

Integrated Encoder and Temperature Sensor

The integrated quadrature optical encoder with differential outputs is protected inside the actuator housing and directly coupled to the output shaft. It provides 1.25 microns resolution for closed-loop position and velocity control. Final system accuracy and repeatability also depend on the controller, mechanical installation, load, structural stiffness, and servo tuning. The integrated temperature sensor provides thermal feedback that can be used to maximize throughput while keeping the actuator within its operating limits.

Key Features

• 1.000 in. (25.4 mm) linear stroke
• 6.8 oz (1.9 N) continuous force
• 21.6 oz (6.0 N) intermittent force at 10% duty cycle
• Integrated quadrature optical encoder with differential outputs
• Non-rotating 0.125 in. (3.2 mm) output shaft with plain linear bearings
• Direct-drive operation with zero mechanical backlash and no cogging
• High acceleration, rapid reversal, quiet operation, and long service life
• Integrated temperature sensor for thermal monitoring

Applications

Industrial Automation: Assembly, inspection, sorting, packaging, shaking, and adjustable equipment.
Medical and Semiconductor: Medical devices, procedure tables, instruments, and semiconductor handling.
Positioning and Fluid Control: Antenna positioning, dampers, door actuators, valve actuators, and agricultural equipment.

Mechanical Integration and Control

Each end of the housing has two 6-32 UNF-2B mounting holes on a 0.500 in. (12.7 mm) bolt circle. Each shaft end has a 2-56 UNC-2B threaded hole. For closed-loop operation, use a compatible servo controller and current amplifier selected for the required force, speed, duty cycle, load, and motion profile.
