Product OverviewThe LVCM-025-022-02MVAC is a vacuum-compatible linear voice coil motor designed for fast, precise, short-stroke motion in low-pressure equipment. Its compact housing measures 1.000 in (25.4 mm) in outside diameter and 0.875 in (22.2 mm) in length, while providing 0.188 in (4.8 mm) of linear travel.Performance and Vacuum-Compatible ConstructionThe motor delivers 26.5 Oz (7.4 N) of continuous force and 83.9 Oz (23.3 N) of intermittent force at a 10% duty cycle. Its brushless, non-commutated direct-drive construction provides smooth bidirectional force, zero cogging, rapid acceleration and deceleration, quiet operation, and long service life. Motor force is proportional to coil current, and reversing the current reverses the direction of force and motion.Key Features• Vacuum-compatible linear voice coil motor• 0.188 in (4.8 mm) linear stroke • 26.5 Oz (7.4 N) continuous force • 83.9 Oz (23.3 N) intermittent force at 10% duty cycle • Compact 1.000 in (25.4 mm) housing diameter • Brushless, non-commutated operation with no cogging • Direct-drive force proportional to current • High acceleration, rapid reversal, and smooth force control ApplicationsTypical applications include semiconductor and wafer-processing equipment, vacuum optical positioning, laser and electron-beam systems, thin-film and deposition equipment, inspection systems, aerospace test equipment, scientific instruments, and research apparatus requiring compact direct-drive linear motion.Vacuum-System IntegrationConfirm the required operating pressure, allowable outgassing, temperature range, bakeout procedure, cabling, and material compatibility against the product datasheet and the requirements of the vacuum system. Threaded mounting provisions support integration into new or existing equipment; refer to the mechanical drawing for exact thread sizes and dimensions.Mechanical Guidance and Closed-Loop ControlThe LVCM-025-022-02MVAC generates linear force but does not provide its own mechanical guidance. The moving and stationary components must be supported by an external bearing, flexure, slide, or other guidance mechanism. For closed-loop position or velocity control, combine the motor with a vacuum-compatible position sensor, servo controller, and current amplifier. Final accuracy and repeatability depend on the sensor, guidance system, load, structural stiffness, controller, and servo tuning. |

The vacuum compatible
LVCM-025-022-02VAC 1 inch diameter brushless high speed linear
motor features zero cogging, is clean, quiet, and
efficient. It features high accuracy and high
repeatability when operated in a closed loop as a DC
servo motor. Featuring low inertia and high acceleration/deceleration for high throughput, this new linear servo motor has a stroke length of 0.19 in. (4.8 mm). It has a high-force-to-size ratio of 1.65 lb (7.4 N) and a peak force of 5.2 lbs. (23.3 N) at 10% duty cycle. The LVCM-025-022-02VAC Linear Voice Coil Motor has a 10-32 UNC-2B threaded mounting hole in the center of the housing and two 6-32-UNC-2B threaded mounting holes on the coil end to easily integrate one of these linear servo motors into a new or existing application. |
